Using recycled materials, we built this set exclusively using hand tools. Embracing the tight budget and lack of power tools, the opportunity to create a resourceful set with a handmade quality allowed it to feel raw and lived-in.

The limitations enabled us to prioritise designs which could be adapted to form various settings through onstage in-scene movement. It added an air of liveliness and dynamicism, and allowed us to create a contrast between 'open' and 'closed' spaces,  to suit a scene.

The set consisted of a large two-sided rotating window frame on wheels, a staircase on wheels with a functioning row of lockers on its backside, and two large moveable boxes.
